Welcome back, everyone!
As you can see, we've been hard at work over the last few weeks overhauling our site's look, page hierarchy, and overall experience. While we certainly took pride in our old design, it was both very buggy when it came to mobile displays and very limited in terms in what we could put on it and where we could take it in the future. We hope the changes will improve your ability to navigate through all of the material we have to offer and continue to do so as we add more in the future!
The first and most obvious change is to the main page. One of our goals was always the ability to access as much from the first screen as possible, and that added the fun challenge of balancing all that information with readability as not to overwhelm the viewer. I really think I hit a stride with that fancy widget at the top of the page, and I think letting go of any worries about how long or wide the page could get let me experiment with this fancy nodal system that can organize the information easily while eliminating the need for two thirds of the pages we had before. Fear not- all of that extra data will be put towards some fun stuff.
The fact that you're reading this means you've found your way to the second major change: our Articles. These are separate items from our typical art pieces that will give us more room to go into the technical side of the topics we discuss. Fiction and such will still go in the art side, while this can help us spread important information about updates and expand the "science" side of our "Art and Science". The original blog will still be important as well as a sort of behind-the-scenes look at what we produce here. If you want to learn as much as you can about what we do here, feel free to check out all three!
Finally, it's important to look at the future: this site is still far from completion, as suggested by the "Extras" section of the main page still being under construction. Some of our plans were simply way too big to implement over just the last two weeks. We hope you'll enjoy the changes we've made so far as we prepare new kinds of content and ways to explore the Whejaverse.
Buckle in, everyone. The ride has only just begun!
